School, Sports and Work Physicals
Doctors Express Oceanside provides a variety of physicals for individuals and families. These include a wellness program, sports, school, pre-employment, Department of Transportation physicals as well as immigration physicals. At Doctors Express your physical wellbeing is our highest priority.
Our Wellness Program provides a complete review of an individual's health status. The goal here is for prevention and screening. In addition to a general exam this program typically includes a complete blood count, a chemistry panel and a urine analysis.
Pre-employment physicals document an individual general health as well as in some case their ability to perform certain jobs.
Sports, school, and camp physicals are used to determine whether a student, athlete or camp attendee is medically and physically able to participate in the planned activities.
DOT physicals are a federal government mandated rigorous evaluation of the health status for commercial motor vehicle operators. Its purpose is to detect the presence of physical, mental, or emotional defects that would affect an applicant's ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle.
During this test, the applicant's full health history is carefully evaluated; this will include any past or recent illnesses or injuries. Both your vision and hearing will be tested. Our physician will also seek to determine if any of the following conditions exist, heart disorders, high blood pressure, muscular weakness or disease, diabetes, digestion, or respiratory problems; as well as for any problems with your lungs, kidneys, liver, or nervous system.
These exams are done in the public interest and are highly regulated, however we realize passing the exam is important to the applicant's livelihood so no one will ever be inappropriately disqualified.
Immigration Physicals are used to determine that immigrants arriving in the United States and applying for permanent residency meet the requirements of the CDC and the USCIS. These exams must be performed by a qualified civil surgeon.
The medical examination procedure consists of a physical examination, an evaluation (skin test/chest x-ray examination) for tuberculosis, or other communicable diseases and a blood test for syphilis. The vaccination requirements include vaccines recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).
